Compressed, or "densified"
hardwood logs use waste hardwood from Canadian wood products mills
to provide clean, cost effective heat. In Europe where forest
resources are limited, densified logs have heated homes and even
entire villages for decades. Logik-ê logs bring that technology to
the Northeast.
This is not a typical "pretty
flame" wax log! Compressed under great pressure at 295ºf, the wood's
own resin forms an external coating that holds the log together
without binders, waxes, colorants or chemicals. The combination of
100% hardwood, no bark, and low moisture content allow each case of
Logik-ê logs to provide more than one-quarter million Btus of
useable heat with little smoke and virtually no dangerous creosote.
All in easy to store boxes without the need to cut, split, stack, or
season.
Simply start a kindling fire like
you would with regular wood and add Logik-ê logs. Depending on air
control, each log can burn three hours or more. With a moisture
content of about half of regular seasoned cordwood, Logik-ê logs
provide almost three times more btu's of heat than a hardwood log of
comparable size. Lower moisture also means less smoke and
particulate emissions, and virtually no buildup of dangerous
creosote.
